Lightly flecked green pads look stunning on the Lemon Meringue Hardy Waterlily! This waterlily does extremely well when grown directly into the soil of natural bottom ponds or in large pots with loam soil.
Always plant your waterlilies in large, wide pots using heavy loam soil or aquatic planting medium. Once you have planted your waterlily in the container--place the container 1 - 2' beneath the surface of the water. Waterlilies are very heavy feeders! For strong plants and optimum bloom, you must fertilize your waterlilies.
Fertilize throughout the summer months during the growing/blooming season. We recommend and sell Landon Granular Fertilizer. Landon Granular Fertilizer is one of the very best fertilizers on the market. You can fertilize your waterlilies for 80 - 90 days with Landon Granular Fertilizer. Use 1/4 cup of Landon Fertilizer for each gallon of soil. Be very careful not to allow the Landon Fertilizer to touch the roots of new plants as they may 'burn'. A good rule of thumb is to mix the Landon Fertilizer in the bottom 2/3 of the container and leave the top 1/3 of the soil with no fertilizer. As the roots grow--the plants will have access to the fertilizer.
