Plant in moist, heavy loam soil in full sun to full shade. Lobelia does well in slow stream beds if the rocks are not too large around the base. This lobelia likes to get its feet wet and will grow well in neutral, alkaline or acidic soil with an inch of water above the roots. Plant in loam soil in fabric planters and place on the shelves of your pond with up to an inch of water above the roots. Easy to grow and care for and blooms from mid summer into autumn. Plant in full sun to part shade in the north, plant in part shade in the south. For your terrestrial garden, add mulch to the base of your lobelia throughout the winter months for protection from freezing and thawing. Remove mulch in the spring.
