Sunrise Brocade Lotus (Dan Ban Jinxia)
Sunrise Brocade Lotus is exceptionally lovely with petals in rich, warm, yellow tones and defined with distinct and unusual red edging on the petals. Green receptacle and handsome green foliage complement this flower nicely! The wide, open flowers are breathtaking on Sunrise Brocade Lotus. Sunrise Brocade Lotus grows 2 - 4 feet tall when planted in wide (18 - 30 inch or wider) containers
Plant in a wide (18 - 30 inch wide or wider), shallow container using heavy loam soil. Dig a trench across the top if the soil and gently place your lotus tuber in the trench, keeping the growth tips exposed. Add a couple of inches of water above the soil and place in a sunny location outdoors (8 + hours of sunlight daily). In a week or so you will have coin leaves on the surface of the water, a week or two after that you will have aerial leaves growing out of the water. Never fertilize your lotus until you have aerial leaves growing out of the water.
Once you have aerial leaves growing out of the water, fertilize your lotus with four fertilizer tabs per month during the months of June through September. Simply press the fertilizer tabs around the roots of your lotus tuber, being careful not to damage the roots. We recommend Waterlily World Fertilizer Tabs+Humates for ease of use, robust plants and best bloom!
