Like Yellow Antelope Lotus is a lovely, little lotus with wide, pointed petals in pleasing shades of yellow. The flowers on Like Yellow Antelope Lotus are 4 - 5 inches across and bloom beautifully throughout the summer! The flowers are unusual and unique! Lots of flowers on this little jewel! Like Yellow Antelope Lotus grows 1 - 2 feet tall
Plant this lively, little lotus in a wide (16 - 20 inch or wider), shallow container using heavy loam soil. Dig a shallow trench across the surface of the soil and place the lotus tuber in the trench with the growth points facing up. Cover the tuber with a couple of inches of soil, leaving the growth tips exposed. Carefully add two or three inches of water above the soil and place your container in full sun outdoors. (8+ hours of sunlight) In a week or two you will have coin leaves on the surface of the water. A week or so after that you should have aerial leaves growing out of the water. Once you have aerial leaves on your lotus, it is time to fertilize your lotus.
Once your aerial leaves are growing out of the water, simply press three fertilizer tabs into the soil near the roots, being careful not to damage them. Do this each month from June through September, as these are the growing/blooming months. We recommend Waterlily World Fertilizer Tabs + Humates for optimum growth and best bloom! Your lotus should grow and bloom the very first year!
