2021 Friendship Of Supervisor and Student Lotus is a tall, versicolor lotus that is both striking and beautiful. Unusual striping of delicate color washes over the petals of this elegant lotus flower. Petal tips are saturated with vivid-pink color on the classic, single-petal blooms. A fringe of golden anthers surround the yellow receptacle and green foliage complements this lotus nicely! Friendship Of Supervisor And Student Lotus is an early bloomer and does well in very wide containers and in the pond. Another exciting hybrid from Dr. Daike Tian! This lotus is an early bloomer and has HUGE flowers!
Plant your lotus in a wide container, 24 - 48 inches wide using loam soil. Add 4 - 6 inches of water above the soil. Place in a sunny location (8 - 12 hours of sunlight daily) and do not fertilize until you have aerial leaves growing out of the container.
How And When To Fertilize Your Lotus
Once your lotus has aerial leaves growing out of the water--it is time to fertilize your lotus. Use 1/2 the recommended dosage for your first fertilizer application. Fertilize with the recommended dosage for the rest of the growing/blooming season, fertilizing once every three weeks throughout the growing/blooming season, June through September. Your last fertilizer application should be in early September. This will allow your lotus to go into dormancy naturally.
We recommend Waterlily World Fertilizer Tabs for optimum growth and best bloom!
