Goddess Of Lou River Lotus is an exceptionally beautiful, pink, single-petal lotus. The rich shade of pink often has striping throughout the petals giving it even more allure. Goddess Of Lou River grows 3 - 4 feet tall and looks beautiful when placed in pots on balconies, patios or in your pond.
Plant your lotus tuber in loam soil using wide, shallow containers. Pots should be 18 - 30 inches wide. Dig a shallow trench in the soil and gently place your lotus tuber in the trench. Cover all but the growth tips with an inch of soil, leaving the growth tips exposed. Add a few inches of water above the soil and place where your lotus will receive 8 - 12 hours of sunlight daily. In a week or two you should have coin leaves on the surface of the water. A week or two after that you should have aerial leaves growing out of the water. Once you have aerial leaves, you may fertilize your lotus with 1/2 the dosage of slow-release fertilizer. In another two weeks you may fertilize again, using the full recommended dosage. Fertilize each month throughout the growing/blooming season with slow release fertilizer tabs.
Lotus prefer still water--never place near a fountain or waterfall where it will receive splashing water! This will cause your lotus to rot.
