Junyu Lian 13 B
Heavenly blooms in delicate shades of ballerina pink, edged in magnificent red. Green petaloids, creamy white anthers and lovely green foliage adorn this lotus. So lovely in containers on your deck, patio or balcony.
Plant in a 16 to 20 inch wide,or wider, shallow container using heavy loam soil. Dig a trench across the surface of the soil and gently place your lotus tuber in the trench with growth tips pointing up. Be careful not to break or damage the growth tips. Cover the lotus tuber with two inches of soil but leave the growth tips exposed. Add three inches of water over the surface of the soil and place your container in a sunny location outdoors. Lotus need at least 8 hours of sunlight per day to grow and bloom! In a week or two you should have coin leaves on the surface of the water, in a week or two after that, you should have aerial leaves growing out of the water. Once you have aerial leaves, you are ready to fertilize your lotus.
Lotus are very heavy feeders! We recommend Waterlily World Fertilizer Tabbs + Humates for ease of use, optimum growth and best bloom! Simply press 3 fertilizer tabbs into the soil around the roots of your lotus, being careful not to damage the roots. Do this each month throughout the growing/blooming season (June through September). Your lotus tuber should grow and bloom the very first year!
