Mosquito Fish (Gambusia) or Gambezi as it is commonly called, is a freshwater fish that can consume large quantities of insect larvae in your pond or water garden. About an inch long and brown-grey in color, it bears its young live and can tolerate a wide range of temperature variations. Mosquito Fish eat mosquito larvae before they hatch, thus keeping your outdoor area free from mosquitos. Mosquito Fish are closely related to guppies and are compatible with other fish such as koi, goldfish, shubunkins, etc., but bass, bluegill and catfish will eat mosquito fish. Mosquito Fish are great in water gardens, ponds, lotus pots and container gardens.
