White Turtlehead, also known as Turtlehead Plant, is an upright growing plant with delightful, glossy, green, serrated leaves. The flowers are white with a slight blush over the bud and resemble snapdragons. The name 'chelone' translates to the word tortoise, and some think the blooms resemble an open mouthed turtle head. These blooms attract butterflies and hummingbirds to your garden! Beautiful in terrestrial gardens as well as in water gardens!

When planting in your terrestrial garden, use moist soil with lots of compost and plant in full sun to part sun/ part shade. Make sure only the roots are in water, keep foliage out of the water. For fuller plants, pinch back center stems.These perennial plants spread by rhizome.
