Loving You Hardy Water Lily — Soft Pink Double Blooms (New From Thailand)
Loving You is a stunning new winter hardy water lily from Thailand with double-petaled soft pink to off-white blooms that feel romantic, refined, and timeless on the water. Flowers open lush and full—perfect for gardeners who love a “rose-like” hardy lily look. Pads are green on top with a red underside, adding rich contrast even when the flowers are between cycles.
This is a large hardy water lily best suited for medium to large ponds, wide containers, or earth-bottom shelves where it can spread and bloom freely though we have noted in a smaller pot with less fertilizer it will become a shy bloomer. With full sun and consistent fertilizer, Loving You becomes a graceful centerpiece that returns year after year. This lily oes best when divided regularly.

Plant Requirements (quick reference)
-
Sun: Full sun, 6+ hours of strong midday light
-
Container: 15–20"+ wide, shallow aquatic container (fabric pots preferred)
-
Depth (soil surface → water surface): 8–20" (shallower = more flowers)
-
Spread: ~4–6 ft at maturity
-
Soil: Heavy loam topsoil only (no bagged mix, peat, “aquatic media,” or gravel)
Care & Fertilizing (simple schedule)
-
Fertilizer tablets: 4–6 tablets on the 1st & 15th of each month (May–September)
-
Application: Push tablets 3–4" into the soil around (not on) the crown
-
Maintenance: Trim spent blooms/yellow leaves; divide every 1–2 years to maintain peak flowering
Water Lily Planting Tips
-
Plant shallower (8–12") to warm the crown and ramp up bud count
-
Keep surface water open—pads are solar panels for flowers
-
Never cover the crown with stones or gravel; leave it slightly exposed
-
Choose wide, shallow containers so rhizomes can run and produce more blooms
Do’s & Don’ts
Do
-
Plant in full sun and heavy loam top soil
-
Fertilize twice monthly on schedule for continuous blooms
-
Repot immediately on arrival; keep all parts wet while planting
Don’t
-
❌ Don’t use compost/peat mixes, “aquatic media,” or gravel (they float, rot, or smother crowns)
-
❌ Don’t let floating plants shade the pads—shade = fewer blooms
-
❌ Don’t plant too deep (>20") if you want frequent blooms
