A vigorous perennial pond plant, it flowers from late spring to frost in full sun and shallow water. If you want a centerpiece that’s easy to grow, blooms relentlessly, and looks unlike anything else in a water garden, Ring of Fire is the one.

Shipping Information for Hardy Water Lilies and Live Pond
Plants
We ship our live pond plants with care so they arrive
healthy, moist, and ready for planting. Hardy water lilies are shipped as live
young adult plants. This means they usually arrive as a rhizome with roots,
stems, leaves, and lily pads.
Because these are live plants, shipping times are based on
plant readiness, weather, and the plants included in your order. We do not ship
by calendar date alone. We ship when the plants are large enough, strong
enough, and safe to send.
When Hardy Water Lilies Ship
Hardy water lilies usually begin shipping to southern areas of the USA near the very end
of March or during the first few weeks of April. Note that if you have other plants that are not ready to ship or are still sensitive to your weather, those factors will weigh in on the exact shipping time.
The exact timing depends on:
1. The weather conditions and temperatures in the Georgia growing area.
2. The variety of water lily
3. When the plant wakes up in spring & reaches a proper shipping size
5. The other plants included in your order
Some hardy water lilies emerge early in spring.
Others take a little more time. We know it is exciting to get pond plants
early, especially if your pond is already warm, but we cannot force plants to
grow before they are ready. Plants are lovely, but they are not great at taking
orders from a shipping calendar.
How We Decide When to Ship Your Order
We ship your order when all plants on that order are ready
and large enough to ship safely.
This is one of the most important things to understand
before ordering.
If every plant in your order is ready, we will prepare the
order for shipping. If one or more plants are not ready yet, the order will
wait until the full order can ship together.
We look at several things before shipping live plants:
1. Is the plant actively growing?
2. Is the plant large enough to handle shipping?
3. Is the plant strong enough to be planted by the customer?
4. Is the weather safe for shipping?
5. Are all plants on the order ready at the same time?
6. Are there tropical or late-spring plants on the order?
This helps us send better plants and avoid shipping weak,
tiny, or sleepy plants that are not ready for the trip.
Orders With Early and Late Season Plants
Some plants are ready earlier in spring. Others need warmer
weather and more growing time.
Hardy water lilies are often ready before tropical water
lilies. Tropical water lilies are usually not ready until May in most cases.
Some other pond plants may also be ready later in spring,
including:
Hardy hibiscus
Marsh marigolds
Mosaic plants
Lemon bacopa
Tropical water lilies
Other warm-season pond plants
If your order includes both early-season plants and
later-season plants, your order may ship later so everything can ship together.
How to Receive Early Plants First
If you want early spring plants shipped first, please place
them in a separate order.
For example:
1. Place one order for hardy water lilies and early spring pond plants.
2. Place a second order for tropical water lilies and later spring pond plants.
This allows each order to ship when the plants in that order
are ready.
If everything is placed in one order, we will ship the order
when all plants on that order are ready.
Can We Hold Orders for Travel Dates?
We are not able to hold orders for vacations, travel dates,
work schedules, holidays, or special delivery windows.
We are a live plant nursery, and we ship based on plant
readiness and safe shipping conditions. We are not set up to manage individual
order holds around personal schedules. That may sound a little firm, but it
helps us keep shipping fair, organized, and focused on plant health.
If you will be away or unable to receive live plants, please
wait to order until after your travel.
You may also ship your order to a friend, family member, or
neighbor who can:
1. Receive the package
2. Open it quickly
3. Keep the plants wet
4. Plant them or place them in water until you return
Live pond plants should not sit unopened in a box.
How We Ship
We ship live pond plants by UPS.
When your order ships, you will receive tracking information
by email. Please watch this tracking so you know when your plants are on the
way.
You may receive email updates when:
1. Your order ships
2. Your package is out for delivery
3. Your package has been delivered
These shipping emails are meant to help you receive your
plants quickly and care for them right away. We try not to fill your inbox with
extra emails, because nobody needs a nursery acting like an overexcited group
chat.
What to Expect When Your Plants Arrive
Live pond plants may show light shipping stress when they
arrive. This is normal.
Hardy water lilies may arrive with:
1. A rhizome
2. Roots
3. Stems
4. Leaves or lily pads
5. Some older leaves that look yellow or tired
Minor yellowing, bent stems, or small leaf damage from
shipping is normal and is usually replaced by fresh new growth after planting.
The most important thing is to open the box right away, keep
the plants wet, and plant them as soon as possible.

Live Arrival Plant Guarantee for Hardy & Perennial
Water Lilies
We want every hardy and perennial water lily to arrive
healthy, fresh, and ready to grow in your water garden. These are living
plants, not plastic decorations from aisle seven, so they do need to be opened
and cared for right away.
Hardy and perennial water lilies are shipped as live
plants during the proper planting season, from spring through summer. We
ship them when the weather and growing season are right, so your plant has the
best chance of settling in quickly and starting to grow.
Your water lily should arrive moist, healthy, and ready to
plant. If something does not look right when your package arrives, please
follow the steps below right away so we can help.
Our Live Arrival Guarantee
We guarantee your hardy or perennial water lily will arrive
in good, plantable condition when it is opened and promptly cared for.
To keep this guarantee active, you must contact us within
24 hours of delivery if there is a problem with the plant.
This 24-hour window is important because water lilies are
live aquatic plants. Once the box is delivered, the plant needs to be opened,
kept wet, and planted quickly. A water lily can dry out very quickly if left in
the box, placed in the sun, or left on a dry surface.
What To Do When Your Water Lily Arrives
Please follow these steps as soon as your package is
delivered.
Step 1: Open the box right away
Open your package as soon as possible after delivery.
Do not leave the box sitting in direct sun, in a hot garage,
on a porch, in a mailbox, or in a vehicle. Heat and dry air can quickly damage
live plants.
Step 2: Check the plant while unpacking
Look over the plant as you remove it from the package.
The root, crown, stems, and underside of the lily pads
should be moist. Some bent leaves, small tears, light shipping stress, or
older, yellowing leaves can happen during shipping. That is normal for live
aquatic plants and usually does not harm them.
The most important parts are the root, crown, and growing
tips. These are the parts that help the water lily settle in and grow new
leaves.
Step 3: Keep the plant wet
Water lilies must not dry out.
After opening the box, keep the root, crown, stems, and
underside of the lily pads wet at all times. In dry, hot, or sunny conditions,
exposed plant parts can shrivel in just a short time.
The top of the lily pads may stay above the water, but the
rest of the plant should stay moist or underwater until planting.
Step 4: Plant immediately
Water lilies do not need to be acclimated when they
arrive.
They are ready to plant right away. The best thing you can
do is plant your water lily as soon as you open the box.
Use a proper aquatic planting container, heavy garden soil
or aquatic planting media, and aquatic plant fertilizer. A water lily needs the
right pot, soil, and fertilizer to grow strong roots, healthy leaves, and
beautiful blooms.
Step 5: If you cannot plant right away, keep it wet
Planting right away is best.
If you need a short amount of time before planting, place
the plant in a tub, bucket, or container of pond water or dechlorinated water.
Keep it in the shade and plant it as soon as possible.
Do not let the plant sit dry while you gather supplies.
Water lilies are dramatic that way, and frankly, they have earned the right.
What To Do If Your Plant Arrives in Poor Condition
If your water lily arrives in less-than-good condition,
please contact us within 24 hours of delivery.
Step 1: Take clear photos right away
Please take photos before planting if you believe there is a
problem.
Your photos should show:
The full plant
The area of concern
The root or crown of the plant
The full packing slip or the packer’s initials on the outside of
the box
The shipping box, if the box appears damaged
Clear photos help us understand what happened and how to
best help you.
Step 2: Email us within 24 hours
Send your photos and a short message to:
PondQuestions@gmail.com
Please include:
Your name
Your order number, if available
A short description of the problem
The required photos listed above
Step 3: Wait for our reply before discarding the plant
Please do not throw the plant away before contacting us.
In many cases, water lilies recover very well after shipping
once they are planted correctly. We may ask for more information or give
planting advice based on the photos.
Important Requirement for the Guarantee
To extend the guarantee past delivery, we must receive your
email and photos within 24 hours of delivery.
This is the one requirement we have for a live arrival
claim.
If you do not email us within 24 hours with the required
photos, the live arrival guarantee is forfeited. We need to confirm that the
package was opened promptly and that the plant was cared for in a timely way.
We know life gets busy, but live plants cannot wait in a box
like a pair of socks from the internet. They need water, shade, and planting
care right away.
What This Guarantee Covers
Our Live Arrival Guarantee covers hardy and perennial water
lilies that arrive in poor condition when:
The package is opened promptly after delivery
The plant is kept wet after opening
The plant has not been allowed to dry out
Photos are taken right away
We are emailed within 24 hours of delivery
The full packing slip or packer’s initials are included in the photos
What This Guarantee Does Not Cover
The guarantee does not cover damage caused after delivery,
including:
A package left unopened for more than 24 hours
A plant allowed to dry out after the box is opened
A plant left in direct sun, heat, wind, or a hot vehicle
A plant that was not planted or placed in water promptly
Lack of proper pot, soil, or fertilizer
Planting in unsuitable conditions
Claims sent without photos
Claims sent after the 24-hour window
Normal shipping stress, such as a bent stem, small leaf tear, or older,
yellowing leaf
Live aquatic plants can look a little tired after shipping.
That does not always mean they are unhealthy. Once planted correctly, water
lilies often perk up and begin sending up fresh new growth.
A Quick Note About Water Lily Care After Arrival
Your water lily is ready to grow, but it needs the right
setup.
Before your plant arrives, we recommend having these items
ready:
An aquatic planting pot or container
Heavy garden soil or aquatic planting media
Aquatic plant fertilizer
A pond, tub, or water garden ready for planting
A shaded, wet holding area if planting will be delayed briefly
A water lily should never be placed dry on a table, patio,
driveway, or sunny spot while you prepare the planting supplies. Keep it wet
first, then get everything else ready.
Simple Arrival Checklist
When your water lily arrives:
Open the box right away.
Remove the plant carefully.
Keep the root, crown, stems, and underside of the pads wet.
Plant it immediately.
If something looks wrong, take photos right away.
Email PondQuestions@gmail.com within 24 hours.
Include photos of the plant and the full packing slip or packer’s
initials.
Don't forget to add Water Lily loam soil, fish-safe
Water Lily fertilizer, and pots to complete your pond plant
setup!
Do water lilies need to be acclimated when they arrive?
No. Hardy and perennial water lilies do not need to be
acclimated when they arrive. They should be planted right away and kept wet at
all times.
How fast should I open my water lily shipment?
Open your package as soon as possible after delivery. If
there is a problem, you must email us within 24 hours of delivery to keep the
Live Arrival Guarantee active.
What photos are required for a live arrival claim?

or crown, and either the full packing slip or the packer’s initials on the
outside of the box.

Email your photos and order details to PondQuestions@gmail.com
within 24 hours of delivery.
What happens if I do not email within 24 hours?
If we do not receive your email and photos within 24 hours
of delivery, the Live Arrival Guarantee is forfeited.
Can my water lily dry out after I open the box?
No. The root, crown, stems, and underside of the lily pads
should stay wet after the box is opened. Water lilies can dry out and shrivel
quickly in dry, hot, sunny, or windy conditions.
Should I plant my water lily right away?
Yes. Plant your water lily immediately after opening the
package. Use the proper pot, soil, and aquatic fertilizer for best results.
