Teri Dunn Tropical Water Lily

The Teri Dunn Water Lily is a spectacular tropical hybrid and a true heavy bloomer. Its brilliant blue-purple flowers measure 4–6 inches across, standing gracefully above the water. Each bloom is complemented by lush green pads, creating a vivid contrast that makes this lily a dazzling centerpiece in any pond or water garden.

A viviparous tropical waterlily, Teri Dunn reliably produces plantlets on its leaves later in the season, ensuring lasting performance and adding to its value for collectors. With its medium size and spread of 4–6 feet, this variety is ideal for medium to large ponds where its radiant flowers can shine.

🌱 Planting & Care Instructions

  • Teri Dunn Water Lily Size: Medium tropical variety

  • Teri Dunn Water Lily Spread: 4–6 feet, depending on fertilization and container size

  • Teri Dunn Water Lily Container Size: Wide, shallow 2–7 gallon fabric pond pot recommended

  • Teri Dunn Water Lily Depth: Best blooming at 6–16 inches below the water surface; tolerates up to 24 inches, though fewer flowers will form at greater depths

  • Soil: Heavy loam only (never use aquatic planting media, pea gravel, stones, or bagged compost soils). If loam isn’t available, use PondGro Aquatic Loam Soil, which can be mixed with up to 40% sand (no more).

  • Fertilizing the Teri Dunn Water Lily: Use Waterlily World Fertilizer Tabs on the 1st and 15th of each month during the growing season. Apply 4–5 tablets per feeding for robust growth and steady blooming.

  • Fragrance of the Teri Dunn Water Lily: Sweet, pleasant scent

  • Winter Hardiness: USDA Zones 9–12 (annual elsewhere)

📦 Seasonal Shipping Information for Tropical Water Lilies

Tropical waterlilies are usually ready a few weeks later than hardy pond plants in spring. They typically ship between May and August/September when warm weather ensures strong growth.

  • If your order includes a tropical waterlily, the entire order will be held until the tropical is available.

  • To receive other pond plants earlier, please place two separate orders.

  • In northern regions, tropicals are generally available just when it becomes safe to ship pond plants to your area.

💡 PondMegastore Tip: Being viviparous, Teri Dunn may produce new baby plants directly from its leaves—an exciting bonus for waterlily collectors and hobbyists.
