Similar to Wanvisa and Siam Fantasy, but with a new color pattern in the similar mutation comes a sleek new look. The flowering is probably no better, and we want to warn you that Wanvisa and Siam Fantasy are inferior flowering plants; they have a few flushes of blooms in optimal conditions each summer, but they need constant attention, fertilizer, and dividing as they multiply far too fast and overcrowd themselves at the root to be good at blooming for more than a couple weeks. They are undoubtedly exciting and very winter-hardy.
Plant the Ring of Fire Waterlily in the widest pot possible; a 12—to 16-inch wide and 4—to 7-inch deep pot is sufficient. We have a lovely 15-inch wide x 6-inch deep fabric container, which will be perfect. Four fertilizer tablets on the 1st and 15th of each month of your growing season until September is also good.
Plant this waterlily in loam sandy soil at only 6 to 18 inches deep for optimal blooming. It will handle water up to 2.5 feet deep, though, and will love an earth-bottom pond rather than being potted in a pond with a liner, if that is what you have. Full sun is best for waterlilies; this won't bloom with much shade, and koi will uproot and eat waterlilies.
