Water Hyacinths are lovely, emerald-green, aquatic plants with bulbous foliage and pretty lavender blooms, one of the loveliest and one of the most popular of all floating water plants! A true floating plant with roots that hang down in the water, helping to purify and clean the water and also shading the water and helping with algae elimination. Shading the water helps to reduce algae growth and adds cover for fish. When Water Hyacinths take up nutrients from the water, it starves out the algae.

Reminder! All plants have different requirements! Water Hyacinths are tropical plants that require warm weather as well as warm water. Water Hyacinths do not tolerate nighttime temperatures below 50 degrees Fahrenheit.
