Blue Iris

Also aids in bank erosion on lakes, ponds and streams. Clyde Redmond Louisiana Iris grow 24 - 30 inches tall in moist soil or up to 4 inches of water above the soil. Blooms early to late spring, depending on zone.

Divide    Divide you iris every 2 - 3 years, as needed. Divide your iris in late summer or early fall

 Plant your Aquatic Iris in full sun (6 hours of sunlight per day) to part shade, in moist, loamy soil soil or up to 4 inches of water above the soil. (In your terrestrial garden, dig the holes for your iris a little larger than the iris bulb itself, 3 - 4 inches deep. Add some composted mulch in the holes before placing your bulbs in the soil. Cover the bulbs with a half inch to an inch of soil and water well.) For the pond, simply plant rhizomes in heavy loam soil and place in at least a 1 gallon container with holes, a Fabric Planter or Planting Basket and place in your pond with up to 4 inches  of water above the container, in full sun. Foliage may be cut back to one inch, after the first frost in the fall. Your Clyde Redmond Louisiana Iris should be divided every 2 - 3 years. Divide your iris in late summer or early fall.
