Painted Lady Hardy Water Lily Proper Planting and Care

• Planting Depth: 6–18 inches from the top of the pot to the water surface for best flowering

• Container Size: 12–16 inch wide shallow container (fabric grow pots strongly recommended)

• Soil: Heavy loam soil only; avoid bagged mixes and compost that rot in water

• Sunlight Needs: Minimum 6–7 hours of full, direct sun daily

• Plant Spread: Medium, ideal for small, medium, or large ponds

For in-ground ponds without liners, Painted Lady Hardy Water Lily can be planted directly into the embankment soil at 6–10 inches deep, but may need temporary fencing for 6–10 weeks to protect young plants from wildlife such as turtles, muskrats, or raccoons.
