Piano Melody

Plant Description

Piano Melody Lotus has slender buds that open to beautiful blooms! Ballerina pink and white petals adorn this magical, single-petal specimen with flying/dancing form. Receptacles and stamens are bright-yellow. The flowers on Piano Melody Lotus practically pirouette in a gentle breeze! Piano Melody Lotus is an exquisite addition that adds movement and energy to your water garden feature or in containers on your balcony or patio! Simply superb! Piano Melody Lotus grows 2 - 4 feet tall and looks lovely when placed in containers on your deck, balcony or terrace.

Planting Instructions

Plant in a wide (18 - 30 inches or wider) container using loam soil. Dig a trench in the soil and gently place the lotus tuber in the trench with growth tips pointing up. Be careful not to break or damage the growth tips. Cover all but the growth tips with 2  inches of soil and carefully add 4 inches of water above the soil. Place your container in a sunny location outdoors. In a week or two you should have coin leaves on the surface of the water, a week or so after that you should have aerial leaves growing out of the water. Once you have aerial leaves growing out of the water, your lotus is ready to fertilize.

Fertilizing Instructions

Lotus are very heavy feeders! We recommend Waterlily World Fertilizer Tabs + Humates for ease of use, optimum growth and best bloom. Simply press 4 fertilizer tabs into the soil near the roots of your lotus, being careful not to damage the roots. Do this each month during the growing/blooming months (June through September). Your lotus should bloom the very first year!
