Golden Goblet is a very large hardy waterlily that requires a large container or planting in an earth bottom pond due to the large vigorous rhizomes that grow well over 1 foot each season. We suggest a 15 inch or larger pot. Planting 6 to 20 inches deep initially in loam soil and fertilized monthly if placed in a container with full direct sunlight. 4-6 foot plant spread on top the water above the roots. Divide in spring or summer as needed for continual flowering. Flowers are often compact especially in cooler weather and on the first of the three days of each flower that opens but wider the second and third days versus the first for a more common appearance. Flowers can be 4.5 to 8 inches across depending on the size of the plant. More established plants in a natural earth bottom pond may easily make it to 3 feet in depth but should not be started that deep.
