Aquatic Plant Orders To Our California Customers
We ship hundreds of orders to our California customers each year, however, shipping aquatic plants to California is not without numerous complexities. Not only are there special regulations for the state of California--they vary by county. This makes importing plants shipped in soil (both marginal and shelf plants) impossible from our main location in Florida.
Florida and California have an ongoing battle with their citrus plants, and often plants being shipped into California from Florida are held for inspection. We do not grow or sell any citrus, however, our plants are often held up simply because they are being shipped from our Florida location.
Our solution to this complexity is to offer far fewer plants to California than to the other 49 states.
There are a limited number of plants we are able to ship to California from our Oregon and Ohio locations, as well as any plant without soil from our Florida location. If there are plants on our site that interest you, but are not offered to our California customer, email us or give us a call, as we may be able to ship these plants to you from other locations for an additional shipping charge.
California is very particular about what plants are shipped into their state along with strict soil regulations. These regulations may be county specific or statewide.
Items such as water lilies, lotus, and floating pond plants ship to California with no issues.
