Blue Daisy Tropical Water Lily

The Blue Daisy Water Lily is a classic tropical variety making a triumphant return after being out of the market for nearly a decade. Hybridized in Florida, this striking lily is admired for its daisy-shaped blue blossoms that bloom all summer long and are beautifully complemented by splotched, patterned lily pads. With a medium spread of 3.5–4.5 feet, Blue Daisy is compact enough for smaller ponds yet bold enough to shine in larger water gardens.

As a reliable bloomer with unique petal form and attractive pads, the Blue Daisy Water Lily is a must-have tropical for collectors and gardeners alike. With proper care, it will reward you with continuous, radiant flowers from summer through frost.

🌱 Planting & Care Instructions

  • Blue Daisy Water Lily Size: Medium tropical variety

  • Blue Daisy Water Lily Spread: 3.5–4.5 feet

  • Blue Daisy Water Lily Container Size: Wide, shallow fabric pond pot (9–14 inches recommended)

  • Depth of the Blue Daisy Water Lily: Best blooming at 6–16 inches below the water surface; tolerates 24 inches, but blooms are reduced at greater depths

  • Soil: Heavy loam soil only (avoid bagged potting mixes with compost, which rot underwater). If loam isn’t available, use PondGro Aquatic Loam Soil with up to 40% clean sand (never more).

  • Fertilizing the Blue Daisy Water Lily: Fertilize twice monthly with 3–4 Waterlily World Fertilizer Tablets (on the 1st and 15th of each month) throughout spring and summer. Consistent feeding ensures continuous blooming.

  • Fragrance: Light, sweet scent

  • Winter Hardiness: USDA Zones 9–12 (annual elsewhere)

📦 Seasonal Shipping Information for Tropical Water Lilies

Tropical water lilies are often ready a few weeks later than other pond plants in spring. They typically ship between May and August/September when warm weather ensures healthy growth.

  • If your order includes a tropical water lily, the entire order will be held until the tropical is available.

  • If you want to receive other pond plants sooner, please place two separate orders.

  • In northern regions, tropical water lilies are generally ready just as it becomes safe to ship pond plants to your area.

💡 PondMegastore Tip: For the best results, plant Blue Daisy shallow (6–12 inches deep) in full, direct sun, fertilize on schedule, and enjoy its steady stream of bright blue blooms.

✅ Fertilize twice monthly with 3–4 tablets
