🌱 Planting & Care Instructions

Sugar Crystal Hardy Water Lily Size: Medium-to-large hardy variety
Spread: 4–6 feet when mature, ideal for medium to large ponds
Suggested Pot Size: 15-inch or wider fabric aquatic container (must be divided every 1–2 years to maintain peak performance)
Planting Depth (from soil to water surface): 6–20 inches deep for best blooming results
Soil: Use only heavy loam topsoil. Avoid compost-based potting mixes, pea gravel, or aquatic planting media. If you do not have loam soil available, we recommend PondGro Aquatic Loam Soil.
Fertilizing Sugar Crystal Water Lily: Insert 4–5 Waterlily World Fertilizer Tablets into the soil on the 1st and 15th of each month during the growing season (May–September).
Sunlight Needs: Full sun – at least 6+ hours of direct, strong sunlight daily.

Do’s

✅ Use a wide, 15-inch or larger container, or plant directly into an earth-bottom pond.
✅ Provide full sun (6+ hours of direct light daily).
✅ Fertilize consistently with aquatic tablets to ensure continual blooms.
✅ Divide the plant every 1–2 years to prevent overcrowding and promote healthy flowering.
✅ Keep water calm for best growth and flower performance.

Don’ts

❌ Do not plant in gravel, aquatic planting media, or compost-based soils – these starve or damage the plant.
❌ Do not bury the crown; it must remain slightly above the soil line for proper growth.
❌ Do not plant too deeply (over 20 inches) if you want continuous blooms.
❌ Do not allow floating plants or other lilies to shade Sugar Crystal – sunlight on the pads is essential for flower production.
❌ Do not let the plant dry out during shipping or unpacking – water lilies must stay wet at all times.
