White Lotus of Thailand (Annual Water Lily) is also called Khao Mongkol, meaning White Fortune. This is a medium to large water lily and very easy to grow. It flowers profusely when planted in all-day sun and fertilized with 3 to 4 fertilizer tablets on the 1st and 15th of each month.
This divine plant is a very heavy-blooming traditional plant from Thailand that can produce 80 to 140 flowers in a single season, usually 1 to 3 flowers per day. You can easily plant 2 together in a 14-inch or wider container if you also double the fertilizer. That can be over 200 flowers a season with 2 planted side by side. The leaves are solid green, and the plant is a symbol of divine purity.
The spread of this plant on the surface can be 3.5 to 5 feet across. Its preference for depth is 6 to 14 inches for best blooming, but it can handle depths of up to 26 inches.
