Saturday Tropical Water Lily

The Saturday Water Lily is a brand-new, compact tropical variety that produces flowers with well over one hundred petals—a remarkable sight in any pond or water garden. Known for its heavy flowering, Saturday often carries two, three, or even four blooms at the same time when kept in full, all-day sun and fertilized generously. Its blossoms glow in layers of color, adding elegance and energy to any pond plants collection.

Medium in size but full of character, the Saturday Tropical Water Lily thrives in warm water and shallow planting depths. When given the right conditions, it will bloom daily through the summer months, offering consistent beauty and outstanding garden performance.

🌱 Planting & Care Instructions

  • Saturday Water Lily Size: Medium tropical variety

  • Saturday Water Lily Spread: 3.5–6 feet (larger with heavy feeding)

  • Saturday Container Size: 12-inch wide, shallow fabric pond pot recommended

  • Depth: Best blooming at 6–10 inches below water surface; can tolerate up to 16 inches, but deeper planting will reduce blooming

  • Soil: Heavy loam soil only. For this variety, you may add a small amount of peat moss pre-soaked overnight into the soil mix to help retain moisture and structure. Avoid bagged potting mixes with compost, which rot underwater.

  • Fertilizing the Saturday Water Lily: Fertilize generously with 3–4 Waterlily World Fertilizer Tablets on the 1st and 15th of each month during the growing season.

  • Fragrance of the Saturday Water Lily: Light, pleasant scent

  • Winter Hardiness: USDA Zones 9–12 (annual elsewhere)

📦 Seasonal Shipping Information for Tropical Water Lilies

Tropical water lilies are often ready a few weeks later than other pond plants in spring. They typically ship between May and August/September when warm weather ensures healthy growth.

  • If your order includes a tropical water lily, the entire order will be held until the tropical is available.

  • If you want to receive other pond plants sooner, please place two separate orders.

  • In northern regions, tropical water lilies are generally ready just as it becomes safe to ship pond plants to your area.

💡 PondMegastore Tip: For maximum flowers, plant Saturday shallow (6–10 inches deep) in very warm water (80–95°F) and keep it in direct, all-day sun.

✅ Do’s & ❌ Don’ts for Saturday Water Lily

Do’s
✅ Use a 12-inch wide shallow pot for best results
✅ Plant in heavy loam soil, with a small amount of well-soaked peat moss mixed in if desired
✅ Fertilize twice monthly with 3–4 tablets
✅ Keep planting depth 6–10 inches for prolific flowering
✅ Provide full sun (6+ hours daily, ideally all day)

Don’ts
❌ Don’t use bagged potting soil with compost—it will rot underwater
❌ Don’t bury the growing point—keep it exposed to sunlight
❌ Don’t add stone or gravel on top of soil—this often causes plant mortality
❌ Don’t plant too deep (over 16 inches) if you want heavy blooming
❌ Don’t skip fertilizing—Saturday is a heavy feeder and requires nutrients

Would you like me to continue next with another high-petal-count tropical hybrid (to group Saturday with similar varieties like Purple Passion and Sasimon), or switch back to a classic color type (blue, pink, or white) for variety in the catalog flow?
