Nin Natee Waterlily – A Jewel from Primlarp Wasuwat
The Nin Natee Waterlily is a small, annual water lily from renowned hybridizer Primlarp Wasuwat. Compact in size but dazzling in presence, Nin Natee features dark, reddish-green leaves 2–3.5 inches across with purple hues. The blooms are equally stunning—purple flowers ranging from 1.5 to 3 inches in diameter, produced continuously from spring until frost.
Perfect for smaller ponds, tubs, and container gardens, Nin Natee thrives in shallow water and delivers steady color throughout the season. It’s also an excellent choice for Medaka rice fish ponds, tub gardens, and stock tanks.
Nin Natee Waterlily Proper Planting and Care
-
Container Size: Plant Nin Natee in a 7-inch wide container for best results. Larger tubs of 18 inches or more provide room for longer performance.
-
Soil: Use heavy loam topsoil (not bagged mixes with compost). Press 2 aquatic fertilizer tablets 3–4 inches deep around the crown at planting.
-
Water Depth: Position 5–10 inches below the water’s surface, measured from the soil line to the water level.
-
Light Requirements: At least 6 hours of full sun daily for reliable blooming.
-
Season: Nin Natee blooms continually from spring through frost.
Fertilizing Schedule for Nin Natee Waterlily
-
Insert 2 Waterlily World Fertilizer Tablets on the first and 15th of each month during growing season.
-
For small containers, avoid overfertilization—smaller annual waterlilies do better with consistent but modest feeding.
Do’s and Don’ts
✅ Do plant in shallow water (5–10 inches) with full sun exposure.
✅ Do use a proper aquatic container or tub of at least 18 inches to allow healthy spread.
✅ Do fertilize regularly with aquatic fertilizer tablets to keep blooms coming.
❌ Don’t use bagged potting mixes or soils with compost—they float, rot, and damage the water lily.
❌ Don’t overcrowd Nin Natee with larger hardy water lilies or floating pond plants. These block sunlight from the crown and reduce flower production.
❌ Don’t allow the rhizome or crown to dry out at any time. Even short exposure to air can damage this delicate water lily.
