Magnificently shaped, large, rich-pink blooms adorn this tall,multi-petal lotus in beautiful shades of pink! A great centerpiece for your pond or water garden, as well as in large containers around your pool, deck or patio!
Plant this lotus specimen in a wide (24-48 inches or wider), shallow container using heavy loam soil. Dig a trench on the surface of the soil and place your lotus tuber in the trench keeping the growth tips pointed up. Gently cover the tuber with a couple of inches of soil but leave the growth tips exposed. Add 4 to 6 inches of water above the soil and place in a sunny (8+ hours) location outdoors. In a week or so you will have coin leaves growing on the surface of the water. A week or two after that you should have aerial leaves growing out of the water. Once you have aerial leaves, it is time to fertilize your lotus.
Fertilize your lotus with 4 to 6 fertilizer tabbs per month, from June through September. These are the growing/blooming months. Simply press the fertilizer tabbs gently into the soil around the roots of your lotus, being careful not to damage the roots. Lotus are very heavy feeders. We recommend Waterlily World Fertilizer + Humates for optimum growth and best bloom! Your lotus tubers should grow and bloom the very first year!
