Little Dancing Empress Lotus
Little Dancing Empress Lotus is a regal, little lotus with majestic-pink, multi-petal flowers fit for royalty! Petaloid centers are pink and green and add a resplendent touch. Stately, green foliage complements this elegant, small lotus. Little Dancing Empress Lotus may be grown in containers and placed in sunny areas of your porch or patio! Little Dancing Empress Lotus grows 1 - 2 feet tall
Plant in a wide (16 - 20 inches or wider), shallow container using heavy loam soil. Dig a trench across the surface of the soil and place the lotus tuber in the trench with the growth tips pointing up. Cover the tuber with a couple of inches of soil keeping the growth tips exposed. Add two or three inches of water above the soil and place in a sunny location outdoors (8+ hours of sunlight daily). In a week or so you should have coin leaves on the surface of the water, in a week or so after that you should have aerial leaves growing out of the water. Once you have aerial leaves, you are ready to fertilize your lotus.
Simply press three fertilizer tabs into the soil around the roots of your lotus, being careful not to damage the roots. Do this each month (June through September) as these are the growing/blooming months. Lotus are very heavy feeders, we recommend Waterlily World Fertilizer Tabs + Humates for optimum growth and best bloom! Your lotus should grow and bloom the very first year!
