Wanvisa Hardy Waterlily

The Wanvisa Hardy Waterlily is one of the most unusual and eye-catching hardy water lilies you can add to your pond. Brought to market by Dr. Nopchai Chansilpa, Wanvisa has become a favorite among collectors and gardeners alike. Its flowers combine delightful tones of peach, apricot, pink, and yellow, often streaked with unexpected striations or patches of golden-yellow. Sometimes you may even see a flower split in half with different colors—making every bloom a surprise.

This hardy water lily stands above the water’s surface, creating a dramatic effect. While Wanvisa can be a slightly shy bloomer compared to other varieties, each flower is truly magnificent when it opens.

The pads are just as interesting as the flowers—new leaves emerge in reddish-brown with striking green speckles before maturing into green with red markings. With a 3–5 foot spread, Wanvisa fits beautifully in medium to large ponds.

Wanvisa Hardy Waterlily Planting and Care

  • Planting Depth: 6–18 inches from soil to water’s surface

  • Container Size: 14–20 inches wide (fabric pond pots are best)

  • Soil: Heavy loam soil only (avoid bagged potting mixes that float and rot)

  • Sunlight: 6+ hours of direct sunlight daily for best blooming

  • Fertilizer: 4–6 Waterlily World Fertilizer Tablets on the 1st and 15th of each month during the growing season

Tip: If growing in an earth-bottom pond, plant Wanvisa in shallow edges of the pond where it receives unobstructed sun.

Do’s and Don’ts for Wanvisa Hardy Waterlily

Do fertilize consistently during the growing season for repeat blooms
Do divide rhizomes every 1–2 years to maintain strong growth
Do plant Wanvisa Hardy Waterlily in full sun with plenty of space for flowering

Don’t use stones or gravel on top of the rhizome, as it suffocates the plant
Don’t allow floating pond plants or other water lilies to crowd Wanvisa, as the pads need to float freely for maximum blooms
Don’t let the plant dry out during shipping or unpacking — hardy water lilies lose moisture quickly and must be planted immediately on arrival
